| After
dropping Dad off at the hovercraft, following his visit with us over
the New Year, I decided to walk round to the Spinnaker Tower.
It had been fascinating to watch it's steady progress over the years
but although it had been open to the public for some time I hadn't
yet found the time to go up it.
As I set out the
afternoon was bright and clear, if a little cloudy. By the
time I had queued for an hour to get up the tower it was grey and
overcast and trying to rain! The point of the visit was to
enjoy the tower, not to take photographs and in reality the weather
did not take the edge of of it at all. It is a thrilling
building to look at and to be in. The poor weather on this
first visit just means I shall have to make the effort to get back
there again. Soon!

| This last
one shows Ryde (where we all lived for a good long time) in the
distance with all three methods of crossing that strip of water
visible - the car ferry with the catamaran behind, and the
hovercraft over to the left. |
